Campus and outings

El CU (one of two BUAP university campuses).

El CU: The economics department.

Students relaxing in the shade at el CU

The garden at el CU where I will be working on a composting project for one of my Agriculture Economics classes.

Ropes course adventure with the program.

Anyone afraid of heights?

The taquería owned by my host mom's eldest daughter. This is the meat for tacos árabes.

(Left) The youngest daughter who lives in the house and (Right) my host mom holding one of her granddaughters.

One of the grandchildren, Emiliano. He's three years old.

Playing Twister with the grandchildren (my host mom is the one wearing the orange sweater)

María-José and Emiliano (sister and brother)

Even though it's rather out of character, I went to a wrestling match ("la lucha libre") with some of my Mexican classmates. La lucha libre is so ingrained in Mexican culture that it was more for the culture experience than the actual wrestling.

Cemitas: A very traditional Poblano dish that are essentially very elaborate hamburgers.

Mexican classmates enjoying a cemita.

A day spent with some Mexican friends exploring the historic center of town. Here we're posed with la china poblana, a figure from one of the many legends of Puebla.

Posole, a rich broth with corn kernels and pork.

Two Mexican classmates of mine.
